On April 19, 2024, the Brooks Range communities achieved a historic win when the Biden administration’s Bureau of Land Management chose the “no action alternative” and formally acknowledged the best path forward is no Ambler road, which would have carved through Alaska’s Brooks Range region to facilitate a devastating industrial mining district in Northwest Alaska.
Communities across the region, Alaska, and the nation continue to clearly oppose this road. The message remains clear: No Ambler road.
And yet, mining interests continue to exert pressure to pave the way for the development of Ambler road. We will not stop. We’ll continue to stand up and ensure our efforts to protect this region, its communities, and wild landscapes remain durable.
Join us and stand with the Brooks Range. Your ongoing support and engagement in this fight remains critical.
